WASHINGTON WATCH: Senate Passes FY 2010 THUD Appropriations Bill

The Senate passed the fiscal year 2010 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) appropriations bill on September 17, 2009. The bill provides $45.8 billion for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, including $18.1 billion for Section 8 tenant-based vouchers and $8.1 billion for the Section 8 project-based rental assistance program. The bill largely mirrors the THUD appropriations bill passed by the House of Representatives in July, and will proceed to conference.
