Diamond Apartment Homes is a pioneering multifamily development that provides both housing and mental health supportive services for previously homeless Orange County individuals and their families. For these residents with persistent mental illness, permanent housing is critical to providing stability and ongoing mental health services. Often, rental housing that serves the chronically homeless and/or those with mental illness is designed for individuals and is predominately studio and one-bedroom units. Diamond takes a different approach by providing housing that will allow families to remain together.

In continuing efforts to increase access to supportive housing for high utilizers of public health resources, and maximize the efficient use of scarce public resources, City and County Departments issued the first collaborative Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) last month.
