EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
PASADENA NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING SERVICES (PNHS), a community-based, non-profit organization, is seeking a motivated, dynamic executive director to manage and guide its’ operation.
PNHS’ mission is to provide comprehensive revitalization services to neighborhoods in Pasadena, California. Program services range from rehabilitation, mortgage lending and property development. PNHS is a partnership of residents, government and local businesses and a member of a national network of community-based organizations, the NeighborWorks® Network, developed and supported by NeighborWorks America.
THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (ED) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization including leadership, fiscal operations, resource development, implement new programs, oversee project developments, and internal management systems. The ED is accountable to the PNHS Board of Directors and reports to the Board President and responsible for generating monthly reports requiring Board approval.
Primary duties:
• Hire, supervise, develop and evaluate staff.
• Assist in the development and administer an annual operation budget in excess of $400,000 with a total budget of $1.5 million
• Assist the Board in the development of a strategic and long-range plan
• Fundraising, including proposal preparations for grants and contract funding
• Ensure compliance with governmental grants and contracts
• Investigate, design and select programs for PNHS internal management
• Develop and maintain relationships with private and public sector partners
• Leverage technology to provide accurate accounting of daily activities
• Assist in the recruitment, orientation, and training of new Board members
• Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and donors
• Staff and support Board committees and provide adequate information to help members reach sound decisions and establish policies
• Promote regular communication between Board and staff
Desired qualities:
• Demonstrated commitment to Pasadena NHS’s programs and goals
• Degree from an a four-year university, Master’s Degree preferred, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years in nonprofit leadership and/or banking experience with strong fiscal management experience
• Proven ability to plan, organize, direct, supervise and motivate staff
• Proven ability in nonprofit fundraising from financial and insurance institutions, corporations, foundations, government and individuals
• Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state regulations
• Demonstrated knowledge/experience in affordable housing, homeownership education and mortgage lending
• Demonstrated knowledge of property development and/or management
• Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills
