Electronic Data Processing (EDP) Coordinator

Summary: EDP Coordinator is responsible for program billing and the coordination and management of all data related to the Department of Mental Health Information Services and some internal data management through the Lamp Community data entry system. Position requires: initiative; consistency; strong problem-solving and analytical skills; the ability to conceptualize and connect multiple procedures in order to follow DMH contractual obligations. Candidate must be computer literate, detail oriented, flexible and well organized. Responsibilities: EDP Coordinator will enter and submit Medical Information System (MIS) claims and Units of Service (UOS) to Department of Mental Health – Integrated Service (DMH-IS) system on a daily basis and will maintain current status on all DMH billing functions beginning with “case-opening” and follow through until “discharge.” Will provide necessary support and documentation for preparation of the “Monthly Utilization Report” and other month end reports. Provide administrative support regarding the Lamp Community data entry system for program managers, directors and clinicians. Will be responsible for organizing and cataloging the storage of Lamp Community Billing sheets, COS Data Entry Forms and other DMH Documents. Requirements: Candidate must have the ability to learn quickly, think and work independently. Ideal candidate will be proactive in determining, evaluating, researching and resolving issues. Must be computer literate – strong knowledge of a variety of programs including IS method of billing, database, Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point Programs. Candidate must have excellent written/verbal communication skills with the ability to type 50 wpm . Must be able to organize multiple activities and prioritize in ever- changing environment, meet deadlines and manage projects as assigned. Minimum two years experience with DMH-IS System.
