The Director of Development and Communications will be responsible for leading and managing the Development and Communications Department. This position requires a highly motivated, responsible and multi-talented individual to provide high-level strategy and skills. The Director will report to the President and Vice-President.
DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:
Supervise and lead Department staff;
Create a comprehensive development plan and work with key staff to integrate and formalize development strategy;
Lead the research and proposal writing for foundation, government, individual and corporate grants;
Oversee grant administration and reporting;
Create systems for tracking grants/timelines, status, etc;
Cultivate existing and future donors;
Maximize and increase current and future donor communication and solicitations;
Plan and lead Capital Campaign;
Direct and supervise fundraising events;
Conceptualize, plan and implement communications and public relations strategies;
Oversee the creation of graphics and branding including the creation of all materials and website;
Develop communications protocol;
Coordinate the work of any consultant hired for fund development and/or communications and monitor their effectiveness;
Speak publicly on ELACC’s behalf;
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum three to five years of experience;
Demonstrated success in identifying, cultivating and soliciting, individual, foundation, government and corporate donors;
Strategic and innovative thinker capable of leading;
Highly personable, diplomatic and social;
Demonstrated ability to work independently, and as part of a team;
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
Extremely organized and able to multi-task;
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines;
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office; must be proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, Internet and Research Skills.
SALARY:
$50-65K Commensurate with experience.
This is a full-time exempt position with good benefits package including health, dental, life and disability insurance, and retirement account.
