JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: DIRECTOR OF REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT
LOCATION: CORPORATE OFFICE, Oakland, California

General: CCH is a major developer and manager of affordable senior housing for Northern California and several other states across the country. Founded in 1961, this non-profit agency has now built up a portfolio of 63 senior communities in 6 states. Our goal is to continue building or acquiring, new facilities at a rate of 2-3 properties per year. Currently the development department has 2 sites under construction, 3 sites funded and ready to start construction and several others at various stages of the planning and underwriting phase. The Director of the department will be one of the senior members of the CCH leadership team and will play a major role in helping to structure and guide the organization in years to come.

ABBREVIATED JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Seeks out, investigates, and develops opportunities to plan, fund, build, acquire, rehabilitate, and open new affordable housing facilities
2. Applies to multiple funding sources including city, redevelopment agency, state HFA, tax credits, and HUD.
3. Reviews major real estate development documents such as purchase options, joint development agreements, loan agreements, and use agreements.
4. Selects, supervises, evaluates, counsels, and develops direct reporting staff
5. Oversees and approves department budget, project budgets and funding; selects architects, contractors, attorneys; approves contracts and agreements
6. Ensures that development project management meets timelines and budgets; assists staff as necessary to correct variances
7. Implements development department procedures, processes, policies, & plans
8. Participates in industry and community events; works with sponsors, regulators, and others to promote and benefit the industry
