High Desert Housing Fair

19 Apr 2008 - 12:30am
19 Apr 2008 - 3:00pm
The relative affordability of housing in the High Desert over the past several years has been a significant factor in the growth of this area, but recent challenges in the economy have slowed this growth.

More challenges are sure to unfold in the coming months for existing homeowners, prospective homebuyers, private sellers, developers, investors and lenders. Yet there are many things that can be done proactively to minimize negative impacts that might result from difficulties in the housing market.

The Housing Fair is intended to address a broad spectrum of questions that are on many people's minds today. Speakers at the Housing Fair will address these questions, and a number of professionals will be available to assist attendees in identifying options that meet their individual needs.

  • What is the current state of the housing market in the High Desert?
  • How does the business environment affect the housing market?
  • What do potential homebuyers need to know to make the best decisions about a prospective home purchase?
  • What do existing homeowners need to know before making decisions to refinance, improve, sell or abandon their home?
  • Is it a good time to buy a home in the High Desert?
  • Can homebuyers obtain affordable financing to purchase a home?
  • Are there any down payment resources available to help low and moderate homebuyers?
  • What will sellers have to do to competitively market existing homes?
