DIRECTOR OF FINANCESubmitted by Casey Horan on 5 January 2008 - 7:36pm.Description: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance will lead all financial, risk management and human resource aspects of the organization’s operations. Lamp Community’s annual budget is $5 million dollars. Direct financial planning and accounting practices, ensure fiscal integrity and manage and/or implement all Finance Department functions, including: budget development and analysis; financial forecasting, reporting and administration; accounts payable and receivable; management of public and private sector grants; payroll; tax and legal compliance; management of investments and other assets and audit preparation.
Prepare all invoices, contract budgets, budget modifications and fiscal reports for more than 8 government contracts. Supervise Fiscal Manager, Finance Associate and Director of Human Resources. Oversee HR aspects of the organization, including benefits, staffing, performance management, legal compliance, employee relations, cultural competency and diversity initiatives and professional development. Improve efficiencies in Finance and HR departments. Participate in ongoing strategic planning and organizational capacity building and serve on senior management team.
Requirements: 6 + years financial management experience ideally within nonprofit sector or government agency. Minimum 3 years relevant professional experience in nonprofit or public sector required. Demonstrated success managing finances of a complex multi-million dollar agency. Masters Degree in accounting or CPA preferred but not required. Willingness to perform selected accounting duties including all monthly government billing. Self-starter, ability to manage/implement multiple projects to completion and thrive in fast-paced work environment. Excellent organizational, analytical and strategic planning skills. Demonstrated success developing and implementing systems to improve effeciencies. Accessible, visible and flexible leadership style that inspires confidence, productivity and collaboration.
