LA City Council Members Eric Garcetti, Herb Wesson and Jan Perry Sign On to Housing LA's 3-Point Plan
Housing LA, in partnership with LA Voice Pico, has co-sponsored three townhall forums beginning in July with City Council President Eric Garcetti and most recently Council members Jan Perry and Herb Wesson. All three have publicly endorsed Housing LA's 3-Point-Plan and pledged to work with Housing LA and LA Voice in passing a citywide mixed-income program, identifying dedicated sources of funding for the Housing Trust Fund and working together to preserve LA's current affordable housing stock.

Our most recent town hall took place on Sunday, December 9th, with over 350 community members, clergy leaders and housing advocates gathered at St. Agatha's Church for a People of Faith town hall meeting with Councilmember Herb Wesson and Housing Manager Mercedes Marquez.
One week before the town hall with Wesson, Jan Perry had meet with over 300 community representatives at St. Odelia's Church in South LA.
Both events began with community members providing powerful testimony describing their current struggles in finding decent affordable housing, increasing rents and poor housing conditions.

Leaders from LA Voice and Coalition LA asked each Council Members for their support and leadership in advocating for Housing LA's 3-Point-Plan as a solution to the housing crisis facing our city. Council Members Perry and Wesson signed their names on an enlarged LA VOICE/Housing LA pledge card publicly supporting our platform.
City Council President Eric Garcetti, having committed to Housing LA's 3-Point-Plan at a similar event in Hollywood this past July, has also signed the pledge card. The goal is to get each councilmember to sign the pledge card.
We would like to thank our allies: LA Voice Pico, Coalition LA, A Community of Friends, POWER, CES, Inquilinous Unidos, Coalition for Responsible Development, 1010 Development, United University Church, LACAN, SAJE, KIWA, Livable Places and the congregations of St. Odelia's and St. Agatha's Churches for their support in making these events a great success.
