Townhall Meeting With Council Member Jan Perry

This past July, in partnership with LA VOICE and more than 20 congregations, Housing LA co-sponsored a Town Hall forum with City Council President Eric Garcetti and Housing Deputy Mayor, Helmi Hisserich. More than 1,000 people attended the action urging the mayor's office and Garcetti to publicly commit their support for Housing LA's 3-Point-Plan. Due to the media attention and momentum generated from this action, LA Voice and Housing LA committed to hold similar town hall actions with key swing council members in late Fall and early 2008.

Once again, the time has come to hear from you beginning next Thursday, November 29th and again on December 9th. Help send a clear message to City Councilmembers Perry and Wesson that its becoming more and more difficult for residents to afford living in Los Angeles and that as the new year quickly approaches it's time they adopt Housing LA's 3-Point-Plan to solve the housing crisis.

Join us for a People of Faith Town Hall Forum with City Councilmember Perry next Thursday, November 29th at 5:30pm. This event will be held at St. Odilia's Catholic Church. The address is 5222 S. Hooper Avenue, LA 90011 (Cross street is 53rd). It's our goal to fill the church to its full capacity. We hope you can join us. Please download the flyers in English and Spanish bellow.

And, mark your calendars for our second action on Sunday, December 9th at 2pm when members of the faith community meet with Councilmember Wesson. This town hall will be held at St. Agatha's Parish Family Church located at 2646 S Mansfield Ave, Los Angeles CA 90016. Flyers with more details are comming soon.
