Campaign Fundraising Director

Campaign Fundraising Director Position Available

The Campaign for HOPE SF seeks a full-time, contract fundraising director to coordinate its efforts to raise $25M in donations, grants and program-related investments.

Position Overview
HOPE SF (www.hope-sf.org) is a ground-breaking plan to revitalize nine of San Francisco's severely distressed public housing sites by creating thriving, mixed-income communities, without displacing current residents. Cross-sector, public-private collaboration is a key tenet of the HOPE SF approach, and governance for this effort is provided by the HOPE SF Steering Committee, which includes representatives from the City of San Francisco, Enterprise Community Partners, The San Francisco Foundation, The Walter and Elise Haas Fund, Bank of America and other key philanthropic and financial institutions. The Steering Committee has helped to form a Campaign Leadership Committee, which will be comprised of 25 philanthropic and civic leaders who bring credibility, connections, and direct financial support to the initiative.

The Campaign Director will serve as the primary manager for The Campaign for HOPE SF, a unique effort to raise substantial private philanthropic funds to support the HOPE SF redevelopment projects, complementing the substantial public funds already committed to the initiative. In addition, the Director will serve as the staff liaison to several HOPE SF task forces, supporting and coordinating their systems change planning activities and translating these activities to campaign fundraising priorities. The Director will report to the HOPE SF Steering Committee, which meets bi-monthly, and to Enterprise's Vice President of Northern California. This contract position is expected to continue for a minimum of two years.

Requirements & Qualifications

Must have demonstrated success with staffing and managing successful large fundraising campaigns, including experience securing major gifts ($100K+) from individuals, foundations, and corporations; motivating and managing fundraising efforts of campaign leadership volunteers; and developing and adapting strategies to successfully achieve campaign fundraising goals. Successful grantwriting track record necessary, and experience with program-related investments also desirable.
Professional familiarity with programs, policies, and current issues related to affordable housing, community development, poverty alleviation, neighborhood-based interventions, mixed-income communities, and/or public-private and cross-sector collaborations strongly desired. Familiarity with San Francisco's Bayview Hunters Point, Visitacion Valley, and Potrero Hill neighborhoods, as well as general San Francisco community issues and politics, also desirable. Must have strong track record of successful project management and coordinating or facilitating efforts of volunteer-driven boards or committees.
