Office Manager, Housing

This position provides assistance to Director of Housing and Facilities Manager by supporting real estate management activities that ensure the successful operation and financial performance of the housing department. Audits staff and subcontractors for housing program compliance in areas of fiscal control, reports, data collection, and income verification. Informs and trains MHA staff on compliance issues and other department related matters. Provides support in preparing notices for meetings; attends meetings, takes/distributes minutes. Performs office-related tasks such as answering phones, screening calls, taking messages, providing information to callers and visitors; scheduling appointments; drafting or editing reports, memos and correspondence, sort, read and respond to incoming mail; monitor project and business expenses and prepare reports for both. Order and maintain supplies; prepare check requests; interface with vendors for office and equipment installations and maintenance; develop and maintain filing system. Qualifications: Must have a BA/BS degree or compensating experience in housing or real estate management. Must have good organizational skills. Must have good basic English writing skills and computer skills, proficiency in Excel is a must. Basic understanding of financial accounting and reporting. Must have a willingness to study and apply for real estate sales license, study and understand complex governmental regulations. Must be self-directed and self-motivated. Must be comfortable working in urban environments. Must also have a valid class C driver’s license, automobile, and current automobile insurance.
