Proposition 1C TOD Housing Program Draft Guidelines Public Comment Forums

As previously announced, the California Department of Housing and Community Development (CDHCD) is seeking comments on draft guidelines for the TOD Housing Program, also known as the Transit Oriented Development Implementation Development Program. These guidelines are available at http://www.hcd.ca.gov/fa/tod/.

Oral comments will be accepted at the forums listed below. If you plan on attending, please RSVP by emailing Donella Moran at dmoran@hcd.ca.gov. Please specify which session you plan to attend, as space is limited.

These forums will include a short overview of the draft guidelines, but their primary purpose is to provide members of the public with an opportunity for comment. After the guidelines have been finalized, the CDHCD will be holding application workshops, at which detailed information will be provided about final program rules and the application process.

CDHCD is also accepting written comments and questions on the draft guidelines, via e-mail to cahouse@hcd.ca.gov. The deadline for comments is September 10, 2007. When sending them, please use “TOD Guidelines Comments” as the subject line.

Finally, please note that the CDHCD web site now includes a partial list of transit stations meeting the proposed eligibility requirement specified in Section 103(a)(3)(A) of the draft guidelines. They expect to have posted information on drive times, as described in Section 103(a)(3)(B), before the public forums.

The forum locations in Southern California will take place in Los Angeles on September 4 and San Diego on September 5.
